ABOUT DR. Rajesh Vasu

⁠Dr. Rajesh Vasu is the Head of the Department, Consultant Plastic and Aesthetic Surgeon at the Institute of Plastic, Cosmetic and Reconstructive Surgeon at Star Hospital, Hyderabad.

He graduated from Jawaharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medica Education & Research [JIPMER], Pondicherry.

He completed his super specialty training in Plastic Surgery [MCh] from Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences [NIMS],Hyderabad.

He is a Fellow of Instituto Javier de Benito, Centro Medico Teknon Barcelona,Spain and has had specialized training in Hair Restoration Surgery with Dr. Russell Knudsen at Knudsen’s clinic, Sydney, Australia

He has over 19 years of experience in the field of cosmetic surgery and has successfully performed over five thousand procedures much to the delight of his patients.

• Three year full time residency training in General Surgery at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi.
• Three year full time residency programme at the Nizam’s Institute Of Medical Sciences (NIMS), Hyderabad.
• The MCh programme included training in general plastic, faciomaxillary trauma, hand, and micro vascular surgery. Training in burn care and rehabilitation was also included by way of a rotating residency at Osmania General Hospital, Hyderabad.

Post doctoral training

• Fellow Hair Transplantation (2008) Fellowship training with Dr.Russell Knudsen at the Knudsen Clinic, Double Bay, Sydney, Aust The Fellowship training included advanced hair restoration techniques in various types of b and hair loss due to various conditions.
• Fellow Aesthetic Surgery (FAS) (2003) Certificate Course in Lasers & Their Clinical Applications (2006) Three months post doctoral fellowship in Aesthetic Surgery at Dr. Javier de Benito’s Institute Centro Medico Teknon, Barcelona, Spain. Exclusively trained in Aesthetic Surgery with a speci emphasis on Body Contouring, Aesthetic Breast surgery and Endoscopic Facial Aesthetic surgery International Master’s Degree in Reconstructive Microsurgery (2017-2019) - Presently pursuing a master’s degree conducted by the Reconstructive Microsurgery European School [ RMES ] affiliated to the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. This degree offers comprehensive & specific training modules in fields such as breast surgery,head & neck reconstruction, limb salvage , genitourinary and super microsurgery.
